The Mount baseball team walked it off, 3-2, in 12 innings against LIU Brooklyn on Sunday. The Mountaineers only mustered up five hits but those five hits were enough to get the job done behind stellar pitching. The five hits were recorded by Myles Nicholson, Alex Kriss, Randall Minogue, and Thomas Savastio. Vaughn Parker II picked up the only RBI of the game for Mount St. Mary's. Freshman, Andrew Dameron, started the game and pitched three innings while giving up just one run on two hits. Two other freshmen pitchers, Brenden Kennedy and Jordan Geber, combined for seven scoreless innings in relief for the Mount. With the win, the Mountaineers move to 10-21 on the year with a Northeast Conference (NEC) mark of 4-9 and with the loss, LIU Brooklyn falls to 17-15 on the year with a NEC mark of 8-6.

First baseman Shea Sbranti hit a three-run home run for his first Penn State homer and also doubled and walked, designated hitter Parker Hendershot enjoyed a career game, as he reached base four times by going 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs, and classmate Kris Kremer tallied his first career hit - an RBI triple in the bottom of the ninth.

Mount St. Mary's and Penn State have met just four times in the past with the most recent time coming at Penn State in 2012. The Nittany Lions won that game 5-3 but are tied with the Mountaineers all-time with a record of 2-2. All of the games in the series have taken place at Penn State.

The Mount returns home for a four game series against Fairleigh Dickinson April 20-22. The first game is on Friday, April 20 at 3 PM.
