The Mount St. Mary's baseball team stomped Coppin State 15-5 on Wednesday afternoon. The Mount offense was led by freshman, Andrew Malone who went 3 for 6 (.500) with five runs batted in, and his first career homerun. Four other Mountaineers, Myles Nicholson, Vaughn Parker II, Thomas Savastio, and CJ Kozorosky recorded multi-hit games and combined for five more runs batted in. Freshman, Brenden Kennedy picked up his first career win while pitching five scoreless innings in relief and striking out two batters. With the win, the Mount moves to 7-14 on the season with a 2-3 conference record and the Golden Eagles dropped to 8-16 on the year with a conference record of 7-2.

The Wagner baseball team extended its win streak to four straight with a 4-2 win over Seton Hall of the Big East on Wednesday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field. The Seahawks improve to 16-10 on the season while the Pirates fall to 9-12-1. With this afternoon's win, Wagner earned its first victory over Seton Hall since April 14, 2010, when the Green & White picked up a 7-6, wire-to-wire victory over the Pirates. Senior RF Kyle Cala had three of the Green & White's five hits in the contest while driving in two of the four runs. His classmate Sean Mazzio, along with junior catcher, Phil Capra, each went 1-for-3 with a run scored. Freshman RHP Mike Pirrotta made his first collegiate start, allowing one unearned run on two hits while striking out three and walking two over three innings in picking up his first career win.

Wagner owns a 55-41 advantage in the all-time series with the Mount as the two programs have met 96 times in series history. The Seahawks won three out of the four games the two teams played last year all in Emmitsburg. Wagner has a 31-17 record against the Mountaineers on their home field.
