Mount Women's Tennis Downed By Fairleigh Dickinson, 4-0, In NEC Quarterfinal Action

West Windsor, N.J. (April 18, 2019) - The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team was downed 4-0 by Fairleigh Dickinson in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Quarterfinals on Thursday afternoon at the Mercer County Tennis Center.

Doubles Recap 

  • The Knights grabbed the doubles point after they won the second and third flights that gave them an early 1-0 advantage.
  • Eftenoiu and Vladescu edged the Mountaineers' Megan Smith and Emma Blake 7-6 in the number two flight.
  • In the third flight, Eftenoiu and Menzin clinched the point from doubles after they topped Taylor Cook and Mia Pittman 6-2.
  • Mount St. Mary's junior Hannah Davis finished the season with 17 doubles wins which is tied for ninth all-time in a single season.

Singles Recap

  • Fairleigh Dickinson clinched the match victory after they took the second, fifth, and sixth flights that sent them into the Semifinals.
  • The Knights won each of those flights by just two sets each.
  • With her 16 singles flight win this season, Mount junior Alexa Quintanilla sits just below 10th all-time in career singles wins with 53.
