ABOUT THE MOUNT MEN
The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team was downed by Carnegie Mellon 8-1 on Saturday night. The Mount's duo of Evan Hine and Jean Armstrong picked up the only point of the match in the number two flight in doubles action. With the loss, the Mount fell to 1-5 on the year.

In singles competition, Carnegie Mellon swept all six flights to secure the match victory. Gabriel Santos and Jean Armstrong fought hard in the middle of the card at the third and fourth flights but ultimately fell to Ray Boppana and Robert Levin. Santos was defeated by Boppana 7-6, 6-4 while Armstrong was edged by Levin 7-6, 6-4. 

Carnegie Mellon won the number one and three flights in doubles action for their seventh and eighth points of the match. The Mount's duo of Evan Hine and Jean Armstrong squeaked out a win over Ray Boppana and Nicholas Calzolano 8-6 in the second flight.

ABOUT THE MOUNT WOMEN
The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team dropped a match to St. Francis Pa. 5-2 on Sunday. The Mountaineers fall to 0-5 to start the year with the loss. Alexa Quintanilla won her second consecutive flight at the number one spot of singles action which marks her eighth win this season and now has a 3-2 record in the first flight spot. Mount walk on Karen Anderson won her first career match by forfeit in the sixth singles flight for Mount St. Mary's second point of the match.

In singles competition, the Red Flash took control of the match by taking the number two, three, four, and five flights all in just two sets. The Mount's Alexa Quintanilla edged Lucia Seigford 6-2, 7-6 in the first flight and Karen Anderson picked up a win by forfeit in the sixth flight for the Mountaineers' two points of the match.

St. Francis Pa. earned their fifth point of the match after winning the doubles point. Seigford and Bode defeated Davis and Smith in the first flight while Gutierez and Miller topped Quintanilla and Cook in the second flight. Another Mount walk on, sophomore Bri Gallagher, earned her first career doubles flight win in the third spot with her partner Mia Pittman.
