Somerset, N.J. (October 2, 2018) - Mount St. Mary's junior Alexa Quintanilla was tabbed as the women's tennis Northeast Conference Player Of The Month as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
An All-NEC performer a year ago, Quintanilla jumped out to a quick start for the Mount, posting a 5-0 singles record and 5-1 doubles mark with Taylor Cook in September. In winning the Loyola Invitational title with Cook under the Points of the Compass format, Quintanilla posted singles wins over JHU's Margo Gerke (6-2, 6-2), Loyola's Alexandria Agee (6-3, 6-2), George Mason's Hannah Harrod (7-6 (3), 4-6, 10-7) and Loyola's Kareti Martin (4-6, 6-3, 10-7) in the title match. The duo also went 4-0 in doubles play.
Quintanilla and the Mountaineers women's tennis team retun home for the Mount Invitational on October 26-28.
