Somerset, N.J. (October 2, 2018) - Mount St. Mary's freshman Taylor Cook has been named Northeast Conference Rookie Of The Month for women's tennis as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Cook took first place along with partner Alexa Quintanilla at the Loyola Invitational over the weekend. Under Points of the Compass draw rules, Cook posted a 3-1 singles record along with a perfect 4-0 mark in doubles. The Largo, FL product knocked off JHU's Meg Chein (7-6 (5), 6-7, 10-4), Loyola's Chloe Boustany and George Mason's Jackie Nannery (6-3, 6-4) in singles play. Cook & Quintanilla ceded just nine games in winning four doubles matches. The Mount freshman has began her year with a 2-2 singles record and a 5-1 mark in doubles competition.
Cook and the Mountaineers return home for the Mount Invitational on October 26-28.
