Cambridge, Mass. (February 18, 2017) – The Mount St. Mary's University women's swimming & diving team closed out the final night of the Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday night at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center. The Mountaineers finished in seventh place with 204 team points.
Central Connecticut won its third straight NEC title with 869.5 team points, while Bryant (605 pts.) and Wagner (578.5) claimed second and third place, respectively. Saint Francis U (405.5), LIU Brooklyn (404), Sacred Heart (214.5), Mount St. Mary's (204) and St. Francis Brooklyn (187) rounded out the team standings.
The Mount had three swimmers place among the top-10 in the 1650 free, led by an eighth-place showing from Maggie deTar in a time of 17:45.24. Bridget Vaughan claimed ninth place in 17:46.05 and Mary Lombardi earned a 10th-place finish with a time of 17:48.17.
Amanda Moore and Sarah Bonson registered the Mount's other top-10 finishes of the night. Moore claimed 10th in the 100 free in 52.23, and Bonson also finished 10th in the 200 fly with a time of 2:08.75.
In the final event of the championships, the 400 free relay, the Mount's top squad of McGraw, Colette Robinson, deTar and Moore placed seventh with a time of 3:37.51.
