Mount Swimming & Diving Teams Head to Loyola for Final Tune-Up Before Championships

SETTING THE SCENE
The Mount St. Mary's University men's and women's swimming & diving teams are set for a meet at Loyola on Saturday, February 4 in their final tune-up of the regular season before championships.

ABOUT THE MOUNT
The women's squad split a pair of meets last week, falling at La Salle, 127-55, before topping conference foe St. Francis Brooklyn, 125-92. Alyssa Felos paced the Mount at La Salle with a first-place showing in the 200 breast, while Sarah Bonson took second in the 200 fly. In the meet at St. Francis Brooklyn, the Mount registered nine first-place finishes to claim victory and improve to 4-1 on the season. Maggie deTar posted a pair of wins in the 500 and 1000 freestyles, and Maddie McGraw won the 50 free and Bridget Vaughan took first in the 200 as the Mountaineers claimed wins in four of five individual freestyle events. Bonson placed first in the 100 fly and Morgan Runk registered a first-place showing in the 100 back for the team's other pair of victories in individual events.

For the men's team, rookie Will Twizell highlighted the meet at La Salle with a first-place finish in the 200 back. Vincent Huang also registered a victory in the 200 breast, and was followed by Aidan McCormick in second place. Against St. Francis Brooklyn, Brock Cudahy and Twizell led the way with a pair of individual victories apiece. Cudahy won both the 100 free and 200 free, while Twizell took first in the 200 IM and 100 back. The duo was also part of the 200 medley relay squad, along with Huang and Eiann Bulatao, that posted a first-place finish to close out the meet.
