Mount Women’s Swimming & Diving Picked Sixth in NEC Coaches Poll

Somerset, N.J. (October 18, 2016) – The Mount St. Mary's University women's swimming and diving team was picked sixth in the Northeast Conference Coaches Poll, which was released by the league office on Tuesday.

Central Connecticut collected six first-place votes to take the top spot in the poll, while Wagner placed second with the other two remaining first-place votes. Bryant, Saint Francis U and LIU Brooklyn rounded out the top-five, while Mount St. Mary's and Sacred Heart tied for sixth, and St. Francis Brooklyn placed eighth.

The Mountaineers opened the 2016-17 season last Saturday, winning 10 of 13 events en route to victories over VMI (153-43) and Manhattan (136-78). Senior Sarah Bonson paced the Mount with a pair of wins in the 200m IM (2:31.33) and 100 fly (1:07.60).
