SETTING THE SCENE
The Mount men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set for the season-opening meet with VMI and Manhattan on Saturday (October 8) at 1 p.m. in Emmitsburg. The meet marks the first-ever for the men's team as they open competition for their inaugural season. Action will be streamed live on NECFrontRow.com.
2015-16 SEASON RECAP
The Mount women's team posted a 4-4 dual meet record during the 2015-16 regular season and claimed a sixth-place finish at the Northeast Conference Championships. The Mountaineers topped NEC foes St. Francis Brooklyn and Saint Francis U in their opening pair of meets, before defeating Howard and American as they began the season with four straight wins for the first time in program history. The win over American was the Mount's first-ever over a Patriot League school. Haley Fournier highlighted competition at the conference championships for the Mount, posting a second-place finish in the 1650 free.
The women's squad returns 18 of 21 swimmers from a season ago, including seniors Sarah Bonson, Claire McManimon, Amanda Moore, Morgan Runk and Hailey Vogt. Moore posted the team's top times of the season in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly, while Bonson registered the Mount's top times in the 200 fly and 400 IM.
Eiann Bulatao (Bel Air, Md.), Brock Cudahy (Manassas, Va.), Roland Edge (Mechanicsville, Md.), Matt Hart (Haddon Township, N.J.), Vincent Huang (San Ramon, Calif.), Michael Kenney (Livonia, Mich.), Aidan McCormick (Yorktown, Va.), Andrew Quinan (Manassas, Va.), Michael Rebarchak (Harrisburg, Pa.), Sean Smith (Severn, Md.), Liam Taylor (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), Will Twizell (Adelaide, Austrailia), Matt Wehmeyer (Point Pleasant, N.J.) make up 13-man roster for the inaugural Mount men's swimming and diving team. Victoria Aung (Springfield, Va.), Maggie deTar (Post Falls, Idaho), Peyton Fuller (Ellicott City, Md.), Shannon McCloskey (Earleville, Md.), Brianna Rizzo (Pequannock, N.J.), and Colette Robinson (Hershey, Pa.) are the six newcomers for the 2016-17 women's squad. COACHING STAFF ADDITIONS
