ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mountaineers dropped a 1-0 decision to LIU Brooklyn last Friday in the NEC opener despite controlling play and dominating for much of the contest. The Mount then came back strong two days later, posting a 1-0 victory over Central Connecticut to improve to 4-7-1 overall and even their conference record at 1-1. Chloe Cain scored the lone goal in the triumph over the Blue Devils for the third game-winning goal of her career. Maggie Barron tied her season high with seven saves in the win while collecting her second shutout of the year.
Jenna West, who tallied the assist on Cain's game-winner, is tied for first in the NEC with five goals and ranks second in points, with 13. Three other Mountaineers, Kayla Hughes, Marcella Fegler and Jaylyn Chandler, have helped pace the Mount's attack with two goals apiece. Barron has started 10 of the team's 12 games in net, posting a .667 save percentage and 1.57 goals against average.

SCOUTING SACRED HEART
The Pioneers, who sit at 4-8 overall and 1-1 in the NEC, opened conference play with a 2-0 loss at Saint Francis U, before claiming a 1-0 triumph over Robert Morris on Sunday to even their league record. Junior midfielder Alex Mosropyan leads the squad with nine points (4g, 1a) and has two game-winning goals on the year. Nicole Sambuco owns a .729 save percentage and 1.89 goals against average in 12 starts in goal.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Pioneers posted a 3-1 win over the Mount last season to improve to 13-5-1 in the all-time series. The Mount's last win over SHU was a 2-1 victory during the 2015 campaign.
The Bulldogs currently own a 7-2-2 record with a 1-1 mark in league play. They opened league play with a 2-1 victory in double overtime at Robert Morris, but fell to Saint Francis U by a 2-1 margin last time out. Sophomore forward Remi Manna (2g, 2a) and senior midfielder Haley Reddish (3g) are tied for the team-lead with six points each. Goalie Rachel Brightman ranks among the top-two in the league in both save percentage (.857) and goals against average (0.55).
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Mount owns a 4-2-1 advantage all-time against the Bulldogs despite a 2-0 victory by Bryant last season. The Mount's last win in the series was a 2-1 victory back in 2014.
The Mount returns to Emmitsburg to face Wagner on Friday, October 13 at 7 p.m. Mount St. Mary's will celebrate Senior Night with a ceremony prior to the game.
