ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount's roster consists of 13 freshmen, three sophomores, four juniors, six seniors and four graduate students. Besides the freshmen, Coach Douglas has added four new athletes to her roster as well. Izzy Durkin is a junior from Darnestown, Maryland, Jordan Carpenter is a senior from Hagerstown, Maryland, Julie Crochet is a graduate student from Castres, France, and Lauren Judkins is a graduate student from McMinnville, Tennessee. The Mount St. Mary's women's rugby team was topped by Penn State University 38-5 on October 27. Shayna Coleman scored the only try for the Mount in the loss. The Mountaineers' last conference win was at New England on October 20. In the match, the Mount topped New England 47-13. Lauren Judkins led the Mount with two tries scored while five other Mountaineers touched the ball down a crossed the touch line in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Mount St. Mary's women's rugby team advanced to the NIRA Tier II Championship for the first time in program history. In just the second year since becoming a division one program, Head Coach Farrah Douglas and her staff has led the Mountaineers to the championship game.

After an inaugural season saw the team go 0-6 in the fall 15's with an overall mark of 2-16, Mount St. Mary's had a tremendous turn-around this season. This fall the Mount went 5-3 overall with a perfect 4-0 record in Tier II division play. Ten different Mountaineers tabbed at least two tries on the year and another seven players added one try. Ubaida Ahmedled the team in tries scored with eight and Maya Grassi led the team in conversion kicks with 20.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Sacred Heart University women's rugby team defeated Molloy in a tight comeback victory with the final score ending in 30-17. The team played in a 12 vs. 12 format for today's game. The win concludes the regular season for the 15's. After losing the first three matches of the season, the Pioneers have won five straight to put them into the Tier II Championship match.

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH SACRED HEART
Mount St. Mary's and Sacred Heart have only met twice since the Mount became a division one program last year. The two teams met in last year 7's season and at the beginning of this year's 15's season. In last season's Pioneers 7's Tournament, Sacred Heart topped the Mount 41-0. In the first match of this season, ten different Mountaineers scored a try as the Mount blanked the Pioneers 76-0.
