Biddeford, Maine (October 20, 2018) - The Mount St. Mary's women's rugby team topped New England 47-13 on Saturday afternoon. Lauren Judkins led the Mount with two tries scored while five other Mountaineers touched the ball down a crossed the touch line in the win. Mountaineer freshman Tania Wheeler scored her first career try halfway through the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lavona Rae Aromin put the Mount on the board first with a try five minutes into the match and Molly Jackson followed with a try of her own off of a penalty. Maya Grassi succeeded on both the conversion kicks to put the Mountaineers up 14-0 early.
- New England scored 13 unanswered points to end the first half with Mount St. Mary's still ahead 14-13. Zoe Adams kicked a penalty kick through the goal posts for the Nor'easter's first points of the match while Kathryn Maiato and Jenni Laferriere added tries.
- In the second half, the Mount rattled off 33 points and held New England scoreless to secure the victory.
- Lauren Judkins, Jenna Lewaren, Tania Wheeler, and Ubaida Ahmed scored tries in the second half for the Mountaineers. With her try in the second half, Ahmed is now up to eight tries scored on the year so far, which leads the Mount St. Mary's team.
The Mount women's rugby team faces off against Penn State in a non-NIRA matchup on October 25 at 6:00 PM.
