The Mountaineers are led by first year coach Farrah Douglas and first year assistant coach Maggie Myles. Douglas brings over 12 years of coaching experience to the Mount, with involvement at the national, collegiate and high school levels. Douglas has been the head coach of the USA Girl's High School All-American (USA U-18) Team for the past two seasons, and the assistant coach with the USA Women's National Team since 2012. Douglas has been at the helm of the Gonzaga College High School team in Washington, D.C. since 2010, while also serving as technical director and skill coach at The Rugby Academy in Potomac, Md. from 2010-15. Myles, a recent graduate from Quinnipiac University where she played on the women's rugby team all four years. As a senior last year, she saw action in all 12 matches while tallying six tries and eight assists during the season. She added 33 tackles on the year which helped her earn NIRA All-American honors.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 60-5 loss at Notre Dame of Ohio in the season opener. The Falcons took control early by scoring a try within the first couple minutes of the match. Mount St. Mary's added five points later, on the team's first try of the season, from Jordan Butcher but the Notre Dame lead was too insurmountable.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN BEARS
Kutztown's Women's club rugby team will open the season in Emmitsburg. Last fall, the Golden Bears finished the regular season 6-0 but lost 22-7 to Bloomsburg in the MARC Finals. Kutztown was knocked out of the USA Rugby tournament by Western Kentucky in the round of 32 with a 33-31 loss.

The Mountaineers will travel to Harvard for a matchup on Friday, September 22 at 7 PM. The following day, Saturday, September 23, the Mount will play Castleton at Sacred Heart for a match at 2:30 PM.
