May 26, 2017 -- Mount St. Mary's University women's lacrosse midfielder Sammie Knapp has been selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Senior All-Star Game. The game will be played on Saturday, June 3 at Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md at 11:30 a.m.
Knapp earned All-Northeast Conference First Team honors as a senior captain this year after leading the Mount in all three scoring categories with 32 goals, 12 assists and 44 points to go along with a team-high 13 caused turnovers. Knapp registered multi-goal performances in 11 of the team's 15 games, including three or more tallies in seven contests. She finished the season ranked 10th in the conference with 2.13 goals per game.
Knapp becomes the ninth Mountaineer in program history to be selected for the North/South Game, joining Kim Keene (2004), Erin LaMotte (2005), Kelly Nangle (2006), Kelsey Withrow (2006), Jane Karger (2008), Katelyn Catanese (2009), Jackie Kearney (2010) and Melissa Cox (2015).
The Division I, II and III Senior All-Star games will be streamed live for free at IWLCA-tv.com
