Somerset, N.J. (February 10, 2016) – The Mount St. Mary's University women's lacrosse team has been picked to finish fifth in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, which was released by the league office on Wednesday.

Reigning NEC regular season champion, Bryant, earned the top spot in the poll with all possible seven first-place votes, while last season's tournament champion, Wagner, was picked second, claiming the one remaining first-place vote. Robert Morris, Sacred Heart, Mount St. Mary's, Central Connecticut, Saint Francis U and LIU Brooklyn rounded out the eight-team poll.

The Mountaineers finished the 2016 campaign at 5-12 overall and 3-4 in league play while narrowly missing out on the conference playoffs.
