Steph Rurkowski Named Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Week

Somerset, N.J. (February 29, 2016) – Mount St. Mary's University senior goalie Steph Rurkowski has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

Rurkowski made a career-high 18 saves and posted a .600 save percentage in the Mount's tilt at Lehigh on Saturday. The Manlius, N.Y. native has made 30 saves in the team's opening pair of games while registering a .566 save percentage and 11.50 goals against average. The senior is looking to follow up her impressive 2015 campaign in which she was named to the All-Northeast Conference First Team.
