Somerset, N.J. (November 26, 2018) – Mount St. Mary's freshman guard Michaela Harrison has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Harrison put forth a memorable performance in the Mount's 87-78 victory over Towson in Emmitsburg on Saturday. The Cleveland, Ohio native scored a career-high 30 points and drained seven three-pointers, while also registering six assists and six rebounds in the contest. Harrison finished just one three-pointer shy of tying the program record for most in a game (8), which has been done on three occasions. The rookie notched 15 of her 30 points in the opening quarter, as she knocked down five threes in the period. Harrison's 30 points were the most by an NEC player this season, and the highest output by a Mountaineer since Ashlee White's 36-point performance against Rider last December.
Harrison and the Mountaineers return to action on December 1 at Loyola at 4 p.m.
