>>> The Mount St. Mary's women's basketball team travels to Ann Arbor, Michigan for its first road game of the 2018-19 season on Friday, November 9 at 7 p.m. The matchup will be the Mount's first-ever against Michigan.
>>> The Mountaineers opened the 2018-19 season with a 74-50 victory over Washington College on Tuesday night at Knott Arena. The team's balanced attack was marked by eight different Mount players scoring seven or more points in the tilt. Sophomore Daly Sullivan led the way with 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting, while sophomore Jatarrikah Settle and rookie Taylor Addison each added 10 points and seven rebounds. The Mount went 31-for-73 (.425) from the field and 6-for-26 (.231) from long range. Underclassmen registered 58 of the team's 74 points in the contest.
>>> Daly Sullivan recorded the 16th double-digit scoring performance of her career in Tuesday's win over Washington College. Her 14 points led the team, marking the sixth time in her career she's topped the squad in points in a game.
>>> The Mountaineers return eight players from last year's roster, including three starters in Juliette Lawless, Daly Sullivan, and Kayla Agentowicz. Lawless was named the Northeast Conference's Most Improved Player and earned a spot on the All-NEC Third Team after a breakout season a year ago. The point guard more than doubled up on her previous career-highs in points, rebounds and assists during the 2017-18 campaign, while leading the team in all three categories. Sullivan enters her sophomore season coming off an NEC All-Rookie Team selection in 2017-18. She burst onto the scene as a freshman, finishing the campaign with the second-most three-pointers in a season (75) in program history. The sharpshooter ranked fourth in the NEC in three-pointers made on the year and 10th in three-point percentage (.350).
>>> The Mount brought in six newcomers to help bolster this year's squad, including four freshmen and two transfers. Taylor Addison (Ellicott City, Md.), Maqui Carrillo Ade (Rockville, Md.), Delaney Connors (West Hartford, Conn.), and Michaela Harrison (Cleveland, Ohio) each enter their first collegiate season in 2018-19. Transfers Alexis Wooden (Binghamton, N.Y./Coffeyville CC) and Kendall Bresee (Frederick, Md./George Washington) come to the Mount with two years of eligibility remaining. Wooden played two seasons at Coffeyville Community College, where she averaged 8.0 points and 5.9 rebounds a game as a sophomore last year. Bresee spent two seasons at George Washington University, and registered 2.1 points and 1.7 rebounds per contest during her sophomore season last year.
>>> Mount St. Mary's features a young squad consisting of a combined 10 freshmen and sophomores. Juliette Lawless and Kayla Agentowicz are the only returning upperclassmen from last year's team.
