Northeast Conference Announces Outdoor Track and Field All-NEC and All-Rookie Teams

Somerset, N.J. (May 29, 2019)--The Northeast Conference announced the 2019 men's and women's outdoor track and field All-NEC and All-Rookie teams last week.  First Team All-NEC honors go to the winner at the NEC Outdoor Championships, second place earns Second Team All-NEC, while the All-Rookie team is comprised of the top rookie finishers in each event.

The Mount men's team had a trio of First Team All-NEC winners with Nicolas Fransham winning the 5,000m, Will Merritt the 10,000m and Brian Sagendorf in the javelin.  Merritt also captured Second Team All-NEC by finishing in second place in the 3,000m steeplechase, and he was named Most Outstanding Track Performer (Distance) after the NEC Championship meet on May 4-5.  The Mount women's 4x800m relay team of Maddie Kole, Destiny Boone, Clarke Hooper and Erin Jaskot earned First Team All-NEC honors with a first-place finish.  Jaskot finished second in the 1,500m to earn Second Team All-NEC, Najae Nickerson was second in the 100m hurdles, and Erin Sample second in the shot put, to earn Second Team All-NEC as well.

Dominique Jeffery (400m), Rene Rosso (100m hurdles) and Emily Eckard (discus) were the top performing rookies in their events to earn NEC All-Rookie team honors.

The Mount men's team finished in third place at the NEC Outdoor Championships while the owmen's team was in sixth place.
