January 26, 2019--The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at both the Liberty Kickoff and the George Mason Patriot Games today.
At Liberty, Maddie Kole led the Mount's peformances with a second-place finish in the mile run (5:00.72). The 4x400m relay team of Mariah McLane, Erin Jaskot, Dominique Jeffery and Kayla Barnes finished fourth with a time of 3:55.18 while the 4x800m relay team of Jaskot, Clarke Hooper, Kole and Destiny Boone had an ECAC qualifying time of 9:18.00 to finish second on Friday night. Hooper finished fifth in the 800m in a time of 2:18.48 while Chardane Logan was sixth in the 500m with a mark of 1;17.85. Elizabeth Shodiya wa seighth in the long jump (5.25m) and Najae Nickerson eighth in the 60m hurdles (9.12).
For the men, Justin Kimble finished third in the 60m dash (6.86) while Isaac Kole was sixth in the 1000m run (2:30.49). Nicolas Fransham was eighth (8:53.45) and Benjamin Finnigan eighth in the mile run (4:17.47). The 4x800m relay team of Brandon Briscoe, Finnigan, Branden Roach and Kole were fifth on Friday night in a time of 7:54.16 while Dylan LaNoue was eighth in the high jump (1.95m).
At the George Mason Patriot Games, highlights included Emily Wood finishing eighth in the weight throw (13.62m), Justyn Seivright fifth in the 400m (51.06), Alex Devine sixth in the shot put (14.52m) and Sam Shinn fifth in the weight throw (14.84m)
