The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's outdoor track and field team is headed to the George Mason Spring Invitational on Saturday. 

NEC WEEKLY AWARDS:  The Mount won four of the six Northeast Conference weekly awards announced this past Tuesday.   Senior D.J. Workcuff collected men's Field Athlete of the week honors, junior Erin Sample was named the women's Field Athlete of the week, and freshman Kayla Barnes was named the women's Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week.

LAST TIME OUT:  The Mountaineers competed at the Colonial Relays hosted by William and Mary last week.  Sprinters Justin Kimble and Kayla Barnes led the way for the Mountaineers with Kimble winning the 100m dash and Barnes breaking the school record in the 200m dash.  Barnes also finished second in the 100m dash.  Erin Sample took home first in the shot put while Brenden Chavis was second in the hammer throw.  In addition, D.J. Workcuff competed in the decathlon at the Sam Adams Combined Events Invitational in Santa Barbara, Calif., finishing fifth with a personal-best score of 6,264 points. LAST YEAR AT GEORGE MASON:  Natalia Hinton broke a 24-year old record in the long jump to pace the Mountaineers at the George Mason Spring Invitational last season.  Hinton took home first place at the meet with a school-record leap of 6.09m (19' 11.75").  Hinton's jump broke a 24-year old Mount record of 6.04m (19' 9.75") in the women's long jump set by Annette Fitz on April 17, 1993.   Kelly Yanucil won the javelin with a toss of 45.08m while Elissa Ingram finished in first place in the college division of the pole vault with a mark of 3.55m.  On the men's side, Chase Boyle took home first place in the hammer throw to lead the way.  Boyle had a throw of 52.96m to top the field while teammate Brenden Chavis was fourth with a toss of 50.68m.  Justin Kimble was fifth in the 100m dash with a mark of 10.82 seconds.  Full Recap here.
