Erin Sample Wins Shot Put to Lead Mount Track on Final Day of Colonial Relays

Williamsburg, Va. (April 7, 2018)—Erin Sample won the shot put to lead the Mount St. Mary's outdoor track and field teams on a cold and rainy day on the final day of the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary.

Sample had a throw of 13.94m (45' 9") to take home first place in the shot put.  Her mark is also surpasses the ECAC qualifying standard.

In the relays, the Mount's 4x200m and 4x400m relay teams each posted third place finishes at the meet.  The 4x200m relay squad of Isabel Ross, Chardane Logan, Chalys Caruth and Najae Nickerson finished third with a time of 1:43.24.  The women's 4x400m relay team of Logan, Ross, Jameela Buchanan and Caruth were also third with a time of 3:54.69.

The men's 4x400m relay team also posted a third-place finish with a time of 3:27.45.  The quartet included Brady Altland, Dhane Schmelyun, Sean Fahey and Khalil Reid.
