Fairfax, Va. (January 7, 2017)--Freshman Chelsea Wright took home first place in the high jump to lead the Mount St. Mary's University women's indoor track and field team at the Father Diamond Inviational on Saturday afternoon at George Mason University.
Wright had a mark of 1.60m (5' 3") to finish in first place in the high jump. Natalia Hinton had a good showing as well, finishing in second place in the long jump with a leap of 5.57m (18' 3.25").
Maddie Kole posted a third-place finish in the 1,000m run (3:05.55) while Erin Sample was forth in the shot put (12.00m, 39' 11.5") and seventh in the weight throw. Moriah Fitzgerald finished fifth in the pole vault (3.25m) and advanced to the semifinals in the 60m hurdles (9.56) while Elissa Ingram also cleared 3.25m in the pole vault.
The Mount men's indoor track and field team is back in action on January 13-14 at the Navy Invitational.
