Women's Indoor Track and Field team begin their season at the Navy Lidlifter
The Mount St. Mary's women's indoor track and field team will kick off their 2012-13 season Thursday afternoon at the Navy Lid Lifter. The meet will take place in the Wesley A. Brown Fieldhouse at the Naval Academy and is set to begin at 5 p.m.
Last year at the Navy Lid Lifter: Desi Scott placed first in the 800m dash with a time of 2:17.17. Chantel Lipkins had a busy night, third in both the long jump (5.28m), the 60m dash (8.02) and fifth in the triple jump (10.97m). Teika Robinson took home fifth in the long jump for the Mountaineers while Jess Huber placed fifth in the pole vault.
Recap of the 2012 season: Last year at the Northeast Conference Indoor Championships, the Mount women finished in 10th place. Jess Huber had the team's top finish, placing third in the pole vault. Morgan Ostasewski finished in sixth place in the weight throw while Desi Scott was seventh in the 800m run. Teika Robinson was seventh in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump, Bridgette Meloro eighth in the high jump, and Heather Gula eighth in the pole vault.
