Men’s Indoor Track and Field Opens 2012-13 Season on Saturday


The Mount St. Mary's men's indoor track and field team begins their 2012-13 season on Saturday at the Navy Invitational. The meet starts at 11 a.m. and is hosted by the Naval Academy.

Last Year at the Navy Invitational:  Quinton Huguley won the long jump and Dylan Bernard took home first place in the 5000m run to pace the Mount men's indoor track and field team at last year's Navy Invitational.

Huguley had a leap of 6.76 meters in the long jump while also posting the third-fastest qualifying mark in the 60m dash.  Bernard had a time of 14:57.38 to win the 5000m run while Tom FitzSimons was busy for the Mount, qualifying sixth in the 60m hurdles and tying for sixth in the long jump.  Gigi Gibilisco finished third in the 800m run as well.

Recap of 2012 Season:  Coby Rosemier-Gussio was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Meet after finishing second in the 200-meter dash, fourth in the 100-meter dash and his amazing performance on in the final leg of the winning 4x400 relay team at the 2012 NEC Indoor Track and Field Championships. .  Gigi Gibilisco took home first-place honors in the 800m run with a time of 1:52.26 at the meet for the Mountaineers as well.  The team finished in fifth place at the meet.  Rosemier-Gussio, Gibilisco and Tom FitzSimons (heptathlon) all participated in the IC4A Championships as well.
