The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field teams host the Eric Kloiber Invitational at the Morgan Track on campus on Saturday. The field events begin at 11:00 a.m. with the running events starting at 11:30.

MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's track and field team opened the 2012 season at the Wake Forest Open. Teika Robinson finished in fourth place in the triple jump for the Mountaineers. She had a leap of 11.85m to finish in fourth place in the triple jump after placing 11th in the long jump with a mark of 5.33m. Teammate Chantel Lipkins was seventh in the long jump with a jump of 5.39m. Megan Kinsella was seventh in the 3000m steeplechase with Heather Juhring finishing eighth in the javelin. Madeleine Midles was ninth in the hammer throw and Morgan Ostasewski was 15th in the discus.
For the men, Dylan Bernard was fifth in the 5000m run while Quinton Huguley was fifth in the long jump. Coby Rosemier-Gussio was sixth in the 200m dash (21.64) with Sean Caskey placing 14th in the steeplechase. Tom FitzSimons had a busy day, finishing ninth in the 400m (48.50), 11th in the pole vault (4.30m) and 11th in the 110m hurdles (15.29).
FITZSIMONS FINISHES 8TH AT TEXAS RELAYS: Senior Tom FitzSimons finished in eighth place in the decathlon at the Texas Relays yesterday. He tallied 7,390 points in the two-day competition. Last year, FitzSimons finished fifth in the Texas Relays Decathlon with 7,606 points to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
ROSEMIER-GUSSIO EARNS WEEKLY AWARDS: Freshman Coby Rosemier-Gussio was named the Northeast Conference's Outdoor Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week on March 20. Rosemier-Gussio had a strong showing in his first career outdoor meet at the Wake Forest Open. Rosemier-Gussio, the NEC Rookie of the Meet at the NEC Indoor Championships, posted a time of 21.64 in the 200m dash to finish in sixth place in a field of 112 athletes at Wake Forest. His time of 21.64 is an IC4A qualifier and is the top mark early in the NEC season. He also competed in the 400m dash, posting a time of 48.91 to place 17th in the field of 101.
UP NEXT: The Mount returns to action on April 6 and 7 at the Colonial Relays.
