MOUNT UPDATE:  Mount St. Mary's dropped both games of a twinbill at Wagner on Monday to fall to 17-26 overall and 5-7 in the Northeast Conference.  Rachel Heinze went 3-for-3 with four walks in the doubleheader to move her batting average to .402 on the year.  Heinze leads the team with 44 runs scored, 11 home runs, 35 RBI and a .756 slugging percentage.  Sam Lichtner is 11-7 with a 3.07 ERA in 24 appearances (21 starts).  Lichtner has 13 complete games on the season with 61 strikeouts in 122.0 innings pitched.

ABOUT THE BISON:  Howard enters Wednesday's doubleheader with a 2-31 record after dropping all three game at Delaware State this past weekend.  The Bison are led by Imani Ballard, who is hitting .385 with four home runs and 15 RBI in 23 games played.  Kamryn Tillman is hitting .291 with a team-best five home runs as well.  Alex Flynn (2-10, 5.41 ERA) and Alexa Walker (0-15, 5.95 ERA) lead the pitching staff.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  Mount St. Mary's holds a 7-1 lead in the all-time series with Howard.  Last year, the Mountaineers swept a home doubleheader against the Bison, winning 6-0 and 11-7.  Howard's lone win of the series was a 6-2 victory on April 8, 2009.  The Mount is 5-1 at home and 2-0 at a neutral site against Howard.

LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP:  The Mount swept a doubleheader against Howard last year at Our Lady of the Meadows Field on campus.  Sam Lichtner and Katie Olson combined for a shutout while Rachel Heinze belted her 16th home run of the season to lead the Mount to a 6-0 win in the opening game.  In the Mount's 11-7 win in game two, the Mountaineers overcame a six-run deficit to earn the win.  Marian Ruf's provided the big hit, a grand slam that tied the score at 6-6.  Ruf went 3-for-4 with five RBI in the game.
