MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday that saw the team move to 12-20 overall and 3-1 in the Northeast Conference. Morgan Alisauckas, Rachel Heinze, Lindsay Heinze and Marian Ruf combined for 18 hits in the twinbill while Ruf tossed a shutout in game two. Rachel Heinze was named the NEC Player of the Week yesterday after hitting .615 (8-for-13) in doubleheaders vs. Morgan State and FDU. Heinze leads the Mount with a .402 average, 36 runs scored, nine home runs and 26 RBI.
ABOUT THE HOYAS: Georgetown is 11-23 overall and 4-5 in the Big East Conference after dropping two of three games at Seton Hall over the weekend. Anna Brooks Pacha is the team's top pitcher, going 8-9 with a 3.66 ERA. She has posted 143 strikeouts in just 114.2 innings pitched on the year. At the plate, Mallory Belknap is hitting .407 while Gabriela Elvina is hitting .341.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES: Mount St. Mary's holds a 6-4 lead in the all-time series that began in 2006, but the Hoyas have won the past four matchups. Last year, Georgetown scored eight times in the bottom of the first and held on for a 16-10 win over the Mount. Holly Buckel went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI while Rachel Heinze added two hits and a home run in the game.
