Mount Update:  The Mountaineers are coming off of a 2-2 finish in the Winthrop Tournament in Rock Hill South Carolina, defeating North Carolina Central (14-1) and Youngstown St. (8-1) but fell short against Eastern Kentucky (6-3) and Bucknell (4-0). Morgan Alisauckas had a great tournament at the plate, tallying five RBIs on Friday alone against North Carolina Central and Eastern Kentucky on the first day. On the mound, Sam Lichtner has six strikeouts in 11 innings pitched with a 2.55 ERA.

The Opponents:  The Mount will face off against La Salle, Albany, Western Carolina, and the host team North Florida.

About La Salle: The Explorers are coming out of the Green and White Invitational where they defeated Fairfield twice (12-4, 6-4), Robert Morris (7-5), and Charlotte (4-1). Their only loss came to Charlotte (6-1).  Suzanne Swanicke has a .400 average with eight RBI while McKenzie Peace has yet to allow a single run in two starts (2-0).

About Albany: The Great Danes are coming off of a 4-2 performance in the Emu Madeira Beach Spring Invitational, beating Kent State (8-3), Columbia (5-4), Detroit (3-2), and Brown (13-4), but losing to Harvard (8-4) and Loyola (4-0). Elizabeth Snow leads the offense for the Great Danes with a batting average of .529 and is followed up by Aliyah Wade who has 10 hits on 22 at bats for the season. Celeste Verdolivo leads the pitching staff with a 2.69 ERA in 13.0 innings pitched.

About Western Carolina: Western Carolina is 2-3 on the season after a 4-0 loss to USC Upstate on March 1.  Courtney Price and Hunter Gibbons each have a pair of home runs this season.  Lily Hayes leads the pitchers with a 1-1 record and a 1.27 ERA.

About North Florida: The Ospreys are coming into the North Florida Invitational with an 8-9 record this season.  Navia Penrod leads the Osprey's offense with 29 hits in 17 games played and has 10 RBIs while hitting .446. Logan Green leads the team in pitching with a 2.35 ERA on 14 appearances at the mound.

All-Time Series vs. UNF Invitational Opponents:  The Mountaineers are 0-3 all-time against Albany, 0-7 vs. North Florida, 1-1 vs. Western Carolina and 1-0 vs. La Salle.

Weaver Named NEC Rookie of the Week:  Mount St. Mary's University freshman Jordan Weaver (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) whas been named the Northeast Conference Softball Rookie of the Week on Feb. 27.  Weaver posted a 1-0 record with a 0.70 ERA in her first three collegiate appearances for the Mount at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational.  Weaver made her collegiate debut with a scoreless inning that included a pair of strikeouts in the Mount's 14-1 win over North Carolina Centeral.  She added two scoreless innings with three strikeouts in the Mount's 6-3 loss to Eastern Kentucky.  Weaver made her first collegiate start against Youngstown State, and tossed a complete game in the Mount's 8-1 victory.  She had six strikeouts while allowing just one run to earn her first collegiate win.

Up Next:  The Mount heads to Stetson for a single game on March 8 before a twinbill at Bethune-Cookman on March 9.
