Mahwah, NJ (April 12, 2018) - The Mount men's tennis team was downed 6-1 on Thursday evening. Brandon Wortkotter and Jackson Wood continued to stay undefeated in conference play at the number one flight of doubles competition. Wortkotter is two wins away from tying the all-time record for doubles career victories and only three wins away from breaking it.
Despite Wortkotter and Wood recording the doubles flight win in the number one spot, Fairleigh Dickinson took the early one point advantage from doubles play by winning the number two and three flights.
Jean Armstrong recorded the only point of the match for the Mount by edging Chan 6-3, 5-7, 10-8 in the fourth flight. The Knights won the other five singles flights to secure the 6-1 match victory. With the loss, the Mountaineers drop to 6-12 on the season with a 2-4 mark in Northeast conference play and with the win, Fairleigh Dickinson moves to 4-13 with a conference record of 2-3.
The Mount travel to Delaware for a match on Sunday, April 15 at 10 AM before coming back home for senior day on Tuesday.
