Lancaster, Pa. (November 16, 2018) – The Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming & diving teams wrapped up the first day of competition from the Franklin & Marshall Invitational on Friday night at the Kunkel Aquatic Center.
Mary Lombardi highlighted the night for the women's squad, taking home first place in the 1650 free with a time of 17:37.25. Haley Bodner was the Mount's next top finisher in the event, placing 15th in 20:02.56.
The Mount women's top relay finish came in the 400 medley relay. The team of Maddie McGraw, Elizabeth Fahrney, Valeria Villagran and Jordan Friedman combined for a time of 3:59.50 to take fourth place in the event.
In the 200 free relay, the team's top relay squad of Friedman, Villagran, Maggie deTar and McGraw placed eighth with a time of 1:40.18.
On the men's side, Nicholas Starvaggi swam to a fourth-place finish for the Mountaineers in the 1650 free, touching the wall in 17:12.58.
The Mount men's and women's teams both sit in third place following the opening day of the invite.
Day two of the Franklin & Marshall Invitational takes place tomorrow (Nov. 17), with preliminary heats at 10 a.m. and finals heats at 6 p.m.
