Twizell Paces Men’s Swimming & Diving at NJIT Invitational

RESULTS

Newark, N.J. (October 21, 2018) – Junior Will Twizell paced the Mount St. Mary's men's swimming & diving team on Sunday at the NJIT Invitational with a pair of top-four finishes. The Mount dropped decisions to Saint Peter's (155-58), NJIT (149-81), and Manhattan (134-96) at the invite.

Twizell notched his first top-four finish of the day in the 200 IM, clocking in at 1:59.65 to post a third-place showing. In the 100 breast, Twizell touched the wall in 59.65 to take fourth place.

Ryan Griffiths was the other Mountaineer to place top-four at the meet, as he registered a time of 55.00 in the 100 back to take fourth place.

Peter Jones collected a pair of fifth-place showings in the 50 free (22.23) and 100 free (49.38), and Ryan Carroll finished fifth in the 100 fly (54.08) to round out the team's other top performances at the meet.

In the final event of the day, Peter Jones, Griffiths, Andrew Jones and Brock Cudahy swam to a second-place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:28.73.

The Mountaineers next head to the Liberty Invitational spanning October 26-27.
