Annapolis, Md. (March 5, 2017) – Six qualifying swimmers from the Mount St. Mary's University men's swimming & diving team closed out the season with competition at the three-day ECAC Championships, which concluded on Sunday night.
Vincent Huang highlighted the championships for the Mount as the freshman advanced past the preliminary rounds in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Huang claimed a sixth-place finish in the finals heat of the 100 breast in 56.18 for the Mount's top finish of the meet. Huang also registered a 16th-place showing in the 200 breast with a time of 1:06.13.
Brock Cudahy swam in a trio of events, with his top finish coming in the 50 free in 21.29. Cudahy also posted a time of 46.84 in the 100 free and a 1:43.11 in the 200.
Aidan McCormick also swam in three events, posting a time of 57.76 in the 100 breast, a 2:09.40 in the 200 breast, and a 52.88 in the 100 fly.
Will Twizell clocked in at 59.32 in the 100 breast and 1:56.57 in the 200 IM, while Liam Taylor registered a time of 1:46.35 in the 200 free, and Andrew Quinan posted a time of 22.21 in the 50 free to round out competition for the Mount in individual events.
The Mountaineers claimed a pair of 11th-place finishes in relay events as Twizell, Huang, McCormick and Cudahy clocked in at 1:35.79 in the 200 medley relay, and the quartet followed with a time of 3:29.37 in the 400 medley. In the 200 free relay, Cudahy, Quinan, Twizell and McCormick placed 13th with a time of 1:26.89.
The Mount finished in 16th place in the team standings with 46 points. Host team Navy claimed its fifth straight open team championship with 532 points.
