Twizell Highlights Final Day of Franklin & Marshall Invitational for Mount Men’s Swimming & Diving

FINAL RESULTS | DAY 3 RESULTS | TEAM SCORES

Lancaster, Pa. (November 20, 2016) – Freshman Will Twizell claimed a second-place finish in the 100 breast to highlight the final day of the Franklin & Marshall Invitational for the Mount St. Mary's University men's swimming & diving team on Sunday. Twizell clocked in at 57.68, while teammates Aidan McCormick (58.97) and Vincent Huang (59.13) finished fourth and sixth in the event, respectively, to give the Mount three of the top-six finishers.

Twizell's impressive day began during the morning preliminary heats as he exhibitioned in the 200 IM and clocked in at 1:53.37, almost a full three seconds faster than the next best preliminary time (1:56.24), set by Cory Camp of Delaware. Camp swam the finals in 1:53.17, which was the only time faster than Twizell's during either the preliminary or finals heats.

Brock Cudahy claimed the Mount's other top finish of the final day, placing eighth in the 100 free with a time of 47.65. In the 500 free, Liam Taylor finished sixth in the 'C' finals, clocking in at 5:02.70.

Cudahy, Andrew Quinan, Twizell and McCormick closed out the night with an 11th-place showing in the 400 free relay in 3:15.31.

The Mount placed ninth in the team standings with 504.5 points. Delaware won the invite with 1629 points, beating out a second-place Washington & Lee (1401.5 pts.).

The Mountaineers are off from competition until the spring semester when they open with a meet at La Salle on January 27.
