Boris Nana Tonzi Earns All-NEC Second Team Selection; Jonathan Godette Collects All-Rookie Team Honors

AWARD WINNERS & ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS

November 8, 2018 – Mount St. Mary's men's soccer junior Boris Nana Tonzi has been named to the All-Northeast Conference (NEC) Second Team, and freshman Jonathan Godette has collected NEC All-Rookie Team honors, as announced by the league at the end-of-the-year banquet on Thursday night.

Nana Tonzi helped anchor the Mount's defense throughout the season, while also contributing on the offensive end, as the junior defender finished the season as the team's leader in goals (4) and points (8). Nana Tonzi scored all four of his goals in conference play, registering tallies in three straight games during the early part of the league slate. Nana Tonzi notched key goals in the Mount's 2-1 win at Central Connecticut and 1-1 draw with Bryant.

Godette was a key playmaker on offense for the Mountaineers during the 2018 campaign. The rookie from Bowie, Maryland ranked second on the team in all three scoring categories, finishing the year with six points on two goals and a pair of assists. Godette's first collegiate goal at St. John's was a spectacular one, as the freshman went airborne and sent a scissor kick into the top shelf for the score. Godette also scored against Robert Morris, and picked up assists against American and Central Connecticut.
