Mount Lacrosse to Honor Legacy of Alum Paul Dettor ’88 with Fundraising Event on Saturday

Emmitsburg, Md. -- On Saturday, March 30th, Mount St. Mary's will be hosting a "Paul's Wall" Tailgate during the men's lacrosse home game versus Sacred Heart. The game will begin at noon, with the tailgate starting an hour prior to the game at the Waldron Family Stadium pavilion. The purpose of the tailgate is to raise money for a lacrosse throwing wall to be dedicated in memory of Mount St. Mary's Alum, and former men's lacrosse player, Paul Dettor '88.

Paul was killed in a tragic boating accident over two years ago. To pay tribute to Paul and recognize his contributions to the Mount men's lacrosse program over the years, his family and friends have been raising money to build "Paul's Wall," which will give the men's and women's lacrosse program a dedicated space to improve their stick skills year round. "Paul's Wall" will be located at Waldron Family Stadium and will provide easy access for the student-athletes to work on their game.

"Paul's Wall" Tailgate will feature free food and drinks prior to, during and after the game, and will be open to all Mount men's lacrosse alumni and family and friends of Paul. To date, we have raised over $22,000 towards the wall. Our goal is $30,000. To make a gift in memory of Paul, please follow this link: https://msmary.networkforgood.com/projects/51463-athletics-paul-s-wall.

There will be "Paul's Wall" engraved lacrosse balls for sale at $10 on the day of the tailgate. Also, for all those who make a donation of $100 before March 30th or on March 30th, you will receive a "Paul's Wall" t-shirt. We look forward to seeing all of you come out and support our Men's Lacrosse program and "Paul's Wall" on Saturday March 30th. If you are planning on attending the tailgate, please RSVP before March 23rd to Brooke Kovalcik, Administrative Assistant for Athletic Development at b.s.kovalcik@msmary.edu.

Thank you for your support of Paul Dettor and the Mount men's lacrosse program.
