2017-18 Men's Basketball Schedule | Breakdown of 2017-18 Opponents

Emmitsburg, Md. (September 13, 2017)—Mount St. Mary's University men's basketball coach Jamion Christian has announced the 2017-18 schedule.  The challenging schedule begins at Marquette on Friday, November 10, and includes 13 home games.

The Mount will open the season by hosting Hood College for an exhibition game on Saturday, November 4.  This is the third consecutive season the Mount has hosted Hood in an exhibition tilt to kick off the season.

Mount St. Mary's opens the year with a tough four-game road trip that includes Marquette (Nov. 10), Notre Dame (Nov. 13) and Georgetown (Nov. 15).  The Mountaineers face North Florida in a neutral site game on Nov. 18 while also playing at Ohio University (Nov. 24), Pittsburgh (Dec. 5), Lehigh (Dec. 9), American (Dec. 18) and Coppin State (Dec. 22) in non-conference action.

The 13-game home schedule begins on Tuesday, November 21 when the Mountaineers will face York College in the home opener in a game that is part of the Maui Jim Maui Classic.  Prior to the game, the Mount will unveil the 2016-17 NEC regular season and tournament championship banners.  Other non-conference home games include the 163rd all-time meeting between the Mount and rival Loyola (Dec. 2), Morgan State (Nov. 27) and Washington College (Dec. 15).

The Mountaineers begin defense of their Northeast Conference title at Wagner on Friday, December 29.   On Jan. 13, the Mount will play at Saint Francis U in a rematch of last year's NEC title game.  The 18-game NEC slate features the Mount playing six of their final 10 league games at Knott Arena.

Coach Christian on the 2017-18 Schedule

"The 2017-2018 season is right around the corner and we are ready for the next set of challenges on our journey. This season's schedule is as challenging as we've had in the past.  It is filled with some emerging programs, some established ones, and we also get to renew some old rivalries.  We wanted to provide our home fans with some additional games this season because they have been so amazing over my time here.  We are making a commitment to that moving forward from here on out.  The schedule release is the first step in the unveiling of this year's team who I am very excited about and I love to coach.   I believe our fan base will feel exactly the same way about this year's team as I do."
