Emmitsburg, Md. (November 28, 2018) – Head Coach Scott Thomson and the Mount St. Mary's baseball team announced the schedule for the upcoming 2019 season on Tuesday. The 47-game slate includes 23 home games at E.T. Straw Family Stadium, with 11 of those coming in non-conference play.
The Mountaineers open the season with a four-game non-conference series at home against Lehigh (Feb 22-24). The Mount then travels to Florida for the Spring Trip spanning from March 2-9 in Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, Florida. The Mountaineers will play Chicago State (March 2), and Villanova (March 3), before the first of two showdowns with St. Bonaventure (March 4). Finally, Mount St. Mary's wraps up the Florida trip with a matchup against Georgetown (March 5), the second game against St. Bonaventure (March 7), and a tilt vs. Ball State (March 9).
After the Florida Spring Trip, the Mount stays on the road with a game at UMBC (March 12), a three-game series at Wagner (March 15-17) to begin Northeast Conference play, and then finishes the road slate with a game at Navy (March 20). After the long road trip, the Mountaineers finally return home for a three-game series against Fairleigh Dickinson (March 22-24), and follow that with a game at home against Coppin State (March 26).
The Mount will travel to Maryland Eastern Shore for a game on March 27 before a non-conference three-game series at home against UMBC (March 29-31). Mount St. Mary's will hit the road again with two conference matchups at LIU Brooklyn (April 5-7) and at Fairleigh Dickinson (April 12-14), with a non-conference game at Navy (April 10) in between the two series. The Mount returns home for an eight-game stretch, beginning with a conference matchup against Wagner (April 18-20) before two non-conference games against Bucknell (April 23) and Maryland Eastern Shore (April 24). The Mountaineers end the home tilt with a three-game series conference matchup against Central Connecticut (April 26-28).
Mount St. Mary's will follow the home stretch with a tough four-game road swing spanning from May 1-5. The stretch includes a game at George Mason (May 1), followed by a three game series at Bryant (May 3-5). The Mount closes out the 2019 season with a three-game series at home against Sacred Heart (May 10-12), before ending the year with a game at Penn State (May 14).
