Mount St. Mary's Baseball Adds Kyle Kane to Coaching Staff

Emmitsburg, Md. (August 30, 2017) -- Mount St. Mary's University baseball coach, Scott Thomson, has announced the addition of Kyle Kane as an assistant on the coaching staff for the upcoming 2018 season.

"Kyle brings a great enthusiasm and baseball knowledge to our staff and we are thrilled he is joining our family. His local ties and passion for the Mount will be a huge asset to our program. Kyle will also be a huge asset working with our alumni," said Thomson.

Kane helped lead the Mountaineers to an NEC Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament during his freshman season in 2008. He finished his career at the Mount ranked third in games played (187), third in at bats (620), fourth in hits (192), sixth in total bases (266), seventh in runs scored (104), tied for seventh in doubles (34), eighth in RBIs (92), 10th in walks (63) and tied for 14th in home runs (12).

Kane graduated from the Mount in 2011 with a degree in philosophy, and later completed the master's program at the University of Notre Dame with a Juris Doctor degree.
