Mount St. Mary's Downed by Georgetown on Tuesday Afternoon

Emmitsburg, Md. (April 18, 2017) - Tyler Post and Will Enrico recorded multi-hit games while Jared Urban added a solo home run but Mount St. Mary's was downed 13-2 by Georgetown on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hoyas started the game's scoring with a sacrifice fly to right field by Eric Garza that plated Michael DeRenzi in the top of the third inning. The Mount answered back in the bottom half of the inning with a solo home run to right field by Urban to even the game.

Georgetown erupted for nine runs in the top of the fourth that made it a 10-1 game. Ryan Weisenberg started the scoring with a two run home run to left centerfield and ended the scoring with a two out grand slam to left field that gave him six RBI's in the inning. The Hoyas scored six unearned runs in the inning after a fielding error by Mount St. Mary's.

After Enrico doubled to left centerfield, Post drove him home with a double to left centerfield of his own for the Mount's second run of the game.

GU added one more run in the top of the eighth and two runs in the top of the ninth to take control of the game. 

Dennis Stewart (0-1) received the loss for Mount St. Mary's while Nick Leonard (4-1) received the win for Georgetown.

The Mountaineers travel to Coppin State for one game tomorrow, April 19 at 3 pm.
