Mount St. Mary's Baseball Clipped By North Carolina A&T In Final Game of Series

Greensboro, NC. (March 5, 2017) - Vaughn Parker II drove in the only run for Mount St. Mary's and Zach Call 4.2 strong innings, but Mount St. Mary's fell just short with a 3-1 loss to North Carolina A&T. Trey McGough pitched 2.1 innings in relief for Mount while not allowing a run and striking out three batters.

After four scoreless innings by both teams, The Aggies would strike first in the bottom of the fifth with one runner on base. Kyle Clary singled to third base and advanced to second on throwing error by the thirdbasemen and (AJ) Perry Hunt would score o the play bringing in the game's first run. Clary was driven in by Forest Kimbrell later in the inning on a single to left field. NCAT would score there last run of the game when Greg White singled to shortstop to bring the lead to 3-0. 

The Mount would add their one and only run in the top of the sixth on a RBI single by Vaughn Parker II that drove in Dalton Clouser after advancing to second on a wild pitch. The Mountaineers finished with five hits and seven runners left on base while the Aggies finished with six hits and seven runners left on base. 

Zach Call (0-1) recorded the loss in the decision going 4.2 innings allowing 3 earned runs while Kaeson Wilson recorded the win in the decision going 8.0 innings allowing 0 earned runs.

The Mount will head to Duke Wednesday, March 8 for one game starting at 4:00 p.m.
