Mount St. Mary’s Baseball Announces Recruiting Class

Emmitsburg, Md. (December 9, 2016) – Mount St. Mary's University baseball Head Coach Scott Thomson announced the team's recruiting class for 2017-18 on Friday. Jordan Geber, Brenden Kennedy, Matt Kephart, CJ Kozorosky, Andrew Malone, Myles Nicholson, Tommy Savastio, and Michael Yetter make up the eight-player class for Thomson and his staff.

"We are very excited to announce our 2017 recruiting class," said Thomson. "We have brought in eight young men who will help us get to the next level. I could not have done this without the help of Coach Leonard. He did a tremendous job of putting this class together as we have filled a lot of our needs by adding speed, power and quality arms."

Jordan Geber | RHP | Archbishop Spalding HS
Coach Thomson on Geber: "Jordan is a power pitcher we were looking for. He will run his fastball up in the high 80's with a good mix of his change and breaking ball. We are looking for great things out of Jordan throughout his career."

Brenden Kennedy | RHP | York Catholic HS
Coach Thomson on Kennedy: "Brenden is someone who will come in and eat up innings right away as a freshman. He does a great job of locating and moving the ball around the zone."

Matt Kephart | C/RHP | Lower Daulphin HS
Coach Thomson on Kephart: "Matt will compete for a spot on the Mound and behind the plate. Matt is a very versatile player who will bring a good bat to the plate and will be an RBI guy for us in the lineup."

CJ Kozorosky | OF | Good Counsel HS
Coach Thomson on Kozorosky: "CJ brings a lot of speed and a great bat to our lineup. We look for CJ to battle for a position right away in the outfield."

Andrew Malone | LHP | Loyalsock HS
Coach Thomson on Malone: "Andrew is a crafty lefty with great command of all his pitches. We look for him to come in and compete for a spot in the rotation right away. He will add much needed depth to our staff, especially from the left side."

Myles Nicholson | SS | St. James HS
Coach Thomson on Nicholson: "Myles is a tremendous athlete with a lot of plus tools. He runs a 6.5 sixty with a plus arm. We look for Myles to compete for a position in the infield right away as a freshman."

Tommy Savastio | OF | Cedar Cliff HS
Coach Thomson on Savastio: "Tommy brings a power bat to the middle of our lineup. He has the potential to be one of the best power hitters ever at the Mount. We look for great things out of him right away."

Michael Yetter | RHP | Bel Air HS
Coach Thomson on Yetter: "Michael pitches like a Greg Maddux. He moves the ball around the bottom of the strike zone and will use all his pitches at any time. We look for Michael to come in and compete for a spot in the front end of our bullpen."
